One of the truly bizarre things about mobile gaming is the sheer number of game clones. When you see a hit game on a mobile shop, you can be sure that there will be dozens of nearly-identical games following in its wake.

Creative Destruction

While some of these games can be described as playing follow the leader, others are simple cash-grabs that seek to make as much money as possible before getting pulled off the store. Whether Creative Destruction is the former or the latter depends on how generous a given player feels like being.

Just like Fortnite

The concept behind Creative Destruction is pretty clear from the moment you load in. This game is not just yet another game that's trying to cash in on the Battle Royale concept - it's a game that very desperately wants to cash in on Fortnite.

it's just Fortnite but with some slightly different visuals.

There are a lot of games that have gone out of their way to be 'Fortnite but X' but Creative Destruction doesn't even go that far - it's just Fortnite but with some slightly different visuals. It is one of those mobile clones that exist by dint of flying under the bigger developer's radar.

If you're looking for a concept beyond being a Fortnite clone, you're probably going to stick with the more general observation that this is a Battle Royale game with a building component. The vast majority of the building works the same as Fornite, though, so it's hard even to differentiate there.

It's never good to note that the entire concept of a game can just come from reading the description on the back of another game's box.

Decent or dated depending on your platform

Exactly what you think about this game's visuals is going to depend on the platform on which you choose to play the game. If you are playing it on a mobile phone, it's okay - it's not quite as good as Fortnite or PUBG on a mobile phone, but it's better than a lot of the clones.

It goes in for bright, cartoony visuals that are similar to the competition, and it works. If you're playing on a PC, this game looks dated. It's definitely not something you're going to enjoy in high-def, and it's not going to give a powerful computer a workout.

Given that Fortnite itself isn't exactly known for being the most visually-thrilling game out there, the fact that this game doesn't quite live up to its obvious inspiration is disappointing.

Build and battle

The good news is that Creative Destruction manages to rip off a competent game when it comes to its gameplay aspects. If you've ever played Fortnite, you've pretty much mastered the basics of Creative Destruction.

The building is a little faster and a little more mobile, but beyond that, you're looking at pretty much the same thing. It's possible to praise Creative Destruction for being easy to play. But even that aspect has almost entirely been removed from a better game.

Nothing new in this battle royale game

Creative Destruction isn't a bad game; it's just a game that doesn't have a very good reason to exist. If your initial thought when playing Fortnite was that you'd love a similar game that looked worse and had more obnoxious microtransactions, this game is for you.

The only reason to play Creative Destruction is that if you loved Fortnite, but somehow have been completely banned from playing that. If this isn't your situation, you're better off either playing Fortnite or finding a battle royale game that brings something new to the table.

TL/DR

Creative Destruction is a Fortnite clone that does precious little to separate itself from the original.
