Pubg Mobile Entering a New Era in Battle Royale

PUBG Corporation has finally revealed details about the latest 1.0 update for PUBG Mobile. The new update will revamp several aspects of the game, so the developers refer to this update as the 'New Era.' This update will be the most significant content overhaul since PUBG Mobile launched over two years ago.

New Tech

Perhaps the biggest thing to get excited about with the latest PUBG New Era update is the game engine's changes. The developers have confirmed the engine update will offer new lighting effects and changes to the physical rendering system. A greater level of detail is achievable with these changes.

All of these changes should result in a more realistic environment to hunt your opponents. PUBG PC's attention to detail makes it one of the most compelling battle royale games. Bringing more realistic physics, textures, and animations to PUBG Mobile is something players have wanted since 2018.

New User Experience (UX)

The developers also showcased an overhauled interface and user experience (UX) for the game. The new interface includes an interactive lobby with improved animations when transitioning between screens. Players can customize every aspect of this new lobby only to showcase the information they want to see.

The game's main menus are redone, divided into Social, Game, and Store tabs. Separating these aspects into different screens makes interacting with the game outside of matches more accessible. Along with the new UX, the developer also revealed some technical optimizations.

The PUBG New Era update should bring with it up to 30% increases in framerate for players. The devs also say they've seen a 75% reduction of lag on test servers, especially for low-end smartphones and tablets. These changes should make PUBG Mobile more accessible on a variety of devices.

Unannounced Changes

Aside from all the announced changes, the developers also hinted at some unannounced surprises. They revealed the 2020 PUBG Global Championship would replace the World League and the Pro League. Teams will compete for a prize pool of $2 million. Speculation suggests the Erangel 2.0 map may launch as a surprise when the update drops on September 8.

An update earlier in August brought two new modes, including Ancient Secret and Team Gun.

The Hype Is Real

The developers are building lots of hype around this PUBG Mobile New Era update. For players who may have stopped playing due to performance issues, this update will likely fix them. The 90Hz frame rate mode exclusive to OnePlus devices is now available for all smartphones that support higher framerates.

Now is the best time to get back into PUBG Mobile as a New Era is upon battle royale fans. The changes in animation and optimization to reduce lag will help tremendously. Most players who moved on to Fortnite cite performance reasons for doing so.
