Ubisoft's ‘E3-Style Showcase’ Had Some Major Reveals

Ubisoft's much anticipated Summer Game Fest event, Ubisoft Forward, just happened and it was major. The well-known publisher of Assassin’s Creed, Watch Dogs, and Rainbow Six had some big game news and reveals to announce during the digital-event which live-streamed via Youtube and Twitch.

Days leading up to Ubisoft Forward, details leaked about the company's upcoming games such as Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs: Legion, and Far Cry 6. Now, those rumors have been confirmed.

Here is everything you need to know if you missed this digital-event:

Far Cry 6 Release Date Announced

The official release date of Far Cry 6 is scheduled for February 18, 2021, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC.

The full reveal trailer features Giancarlo Esposito -- the actor from the hit tv series' "Breaking Bad" and "The Mandalorian". Giancarlo stars as the game's brutal antagonist, President Anton Castillo. Play as a female or male version of Dani Rojas and fight the President's evil regime and restore peace back to the beloved Caribbean island of Yara.

Assassin's Creed: Valhalla Confirmed Release Date

Assassin's Creed Valhalla has been confirmed for release on November 17, 2020. The Norse-inspired adventure game will launch on Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Stadia. Ubisoft also mentioned the game will "come soon" to Xbox Series X and PS5 but did not give a release date. A new gameplay trailer for the latest Assassin's Creed game was also released. The gameplay seems akin to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Origins.

In Assassin's Creed Valhalla, walk in the footsteps of a Viking raider. In search of better farming land, Eivor sets off on a journey to save his clan and give them a more prosperous life. Fight, raid, and build all while attempting to form alliances. Will this be enough to be accepted in Valhalla?

Hyper Scape

Ubisoft's new battle royale, Hyper Scape, was announced earlier when they did a closed technical test a couple of weeks ago. Now the fighting game is available in open beta starting today, July 12. Some new additions to the game have also been added: including a new weapon, hack as well as a 30-tier battle pass. Hyper Scape is due to launch this summer to PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

In Hyper Scape, players will experience fast-paced battles in the futuristic urban streets of Neo Arcadia. Fight, loot, and hack your way to become the ultimate champion in the new free-to-play battle royale FPS.

Watch Dogs: Legion

Watch Dogs: Legion is due to launch on October 29, 2020, on Xbox One, PS4, PC, Stadia, and Uplay+. The action-adventure game will also make it's way to next-gen consoles as a free upgrade.

The gameplay trailer revealed an intriguing storyline and the ultimate level of customization. The biggest difference in Legion compared to Watch Dogs seems to be the ability to recruit any NPC as a playable character. In the game, players start by choosing from an array of characters, each with a unique background and skillset. Join the resistance and take back the once-vibrant city of London.

Brawlhalla

Ubisoft announced that the epic free-to-play 2D platform fighting game, Brawlhalla, will be coming to Android and iOS. The mobile version of the game is due to launch on August 6, 2020, with over 50 new fighters, customizable controls, as well as cross-play. Pre-register now and unlock a free skin when the game launches in a few weeks.

Brawhalla transports players to Valhalla where some of the greatest Norse warriors brawl it out in an epic test of strength and talent. Choose your weapon and prove you're the best legend either in single-player or co-op mode.

More to Come

Talk about big news -- this event revealed a lot of gaming details we have been anxiously waiting for. The publisher announced that another Ubisoft Forward digital-event is coming later in the year. Ubisoft's CEO Yves Guillemot stated: “We haven’t shown you everything yet. In fact, we have a lot more to come, so you will have another Ubisoft Forward to reveal even more about our upcoming games.” Stay tuned!
